Iwona Orlowska – Pediatric Physiotherapist
She has a Master of Physiotherapy and graduated from the Medical University of Gdańsk (2009). She gained experience working as a neurological physiotherapist for children and adults in Poland, England and Wales, cooperating with teams of specialists to provide comprehensive care for neurological patients.
In her practice, she relies on NDT-Bobath, PNF and Early Intervention methods. She believes that effective therapy begins with a thorough and individual assessment of the patient’s needs – this is the basis for achieving the best results.
He is a member of international professional organizations such as:
✔️ HCPC (Great Britain)
✔️ The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
✔️ Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP)
✔️ British Association of Bobath Trained Therapists (BABTT)
✔️ European Academy of Childhood Disability (EACD)
He is constantly expanding his knowledge to be able to offer modern and effective methods of neurological therapy for children and adults.
In his work with the youngest children, he primarily uses the NDT-Bobath concept.
This is a modern, neurodevelopmental method of therapy that supports the motor development of infants and children with neurological difficulties. The aim of the therapy is to support the child in achieving the most effective, functional and qualitative movement patterns – consistent with their developmental potential.
She approaches each young patient individually – she starts with a detailed functional diagnostics, and then develops a personalized therapeutic plan, tailored to the child’s current needs and capabilities.
During therapy, she focuses on the **quality of movement**, not just its quantity. It is precisely the precise, well-organized movement that allows the child to learn and effectively develop new skills.
Daily care is also of great importance. Educate parents on how to support their child’s development at home through proper carrying, lifting, feeding, dressing or playing. These everyday activities are a great opportunity for activation, sensory stimulation and building relationships.
Main assumptions of the NDT/Bobath method:
NDT-Bobath therapy integrates perfectly with other methods supporting child development, such as:
* PNF,
* Fascial Therapy,
* Kinesiology Taping.
