Modern orthodontics is developing rapidly. At Medicare Clinic in Reading, we try to combine years of experience and skills with modern technologies and progress in medicine. Especially for our patients, we conduct short, effective aesthetic bite corrections as well as longer, advanced orthodontic treatment, combined with implant treatment.
We offer different types of hearing aids, individually tailored – to ultimately make your hearing aid as unique as you are. You have to remember that a beautiful smile is a healthy smile, but every smile is different!
The initial consultation will give you an idea of whether and how we can help you. There are different types of braces that determine the subsequent number of visits, the appearance of your smile during treatment and its length.
We can also immediately go to action – during the same visit we can take a panoramic photo of the teeth (OPG), measurements, photographic documentation and impressions for the camera, necessary to start the treatment.
If at any stage of treatment you need the help of a hygienist, dentist, dental surgeon or implantologist – Medicare Clinic has all these specialists on site.
At Medicare Clinic Orthodontics Reading, we provide expert consultant-level care throughout every stage of your treatment—from diagnosing and identifying dental abnormalities to delivering the final procedure that enhances your smile.

REMOVABLE BRACES – they are used mainly in small patients, they are inserted and removed on their own, most often they are used between 4 and 12 years of age, i.e. before the end of the replacement of milk teeth with permanent ones. A coloured acrylic plate shaped to match the teeth and wire elements (springs, screws, clamps) can cure many malocclusions, provided that the treatment is started early and the little patient follows the doctor’s instructions, removable braces are usually worn for a few hours a day and all day long night, monthly check-ups allow you to assess the effectiveness of treatment. Early treatment with removable braces very often protects the patient against removal of permanent teeth in the later period.
FIXED BRACES – they allow for the treatment of much more serious defects than removable braces, the braces consist of brackets and rings that are glued to the teeth for the treatment period, which depends on the defect being treated – on average about 2 years. Depending on the medical and aesthetic requirements, we have various types of fixed appliances:
FIXED METAL APPLIANCES

– they consist of metal locks that are used to place the arch, which is attached with coloured ligatures (they can be transparent). For control visits in the case of fixed appliances, regardless of their type, the patient comes every month (between 3 and 6 weeks). In situations beyond the control of the patient, the interval between visits may be longer, which in turn extends the time of treatment with a fixed appliance.
AESTHETIC APPLIANCES (-CERAMIC)
1-PORCELAIN – the color of the brackets matches the shade of the enamel, the coated white wire plus transparent ligatures make the braces invisible, which allows patients to treat malocclusions who care about the invisible effect of having braces on their teeth.

2-SAPPHIRE – crystal locks – crystal clear sapphire is a material with excellent translucency, the locks are not discoloured (in the case of coffee, tea or wine), which makes them more comfortable for a demanding patient.

INSTALLATION OF THE BRACES is a completely painless procedure and takes about 1-1.5 hours. The doctor sticks locks, rings and on subsequent visits, various movable elements are added that enhance the treatment effect. Before putting on the braces, the teeth should be treated and the calculus removed.
RETENTION – the last stage of treatment, which stabilizes the achieved results and consolidates the effect of treatment, are retention appliances
1-CONSTANT – it is a thin wire glued to the lingual surfaces of the upper or lower front teeth
MOVABLE – acrylic removable plate covers the entire dental arch

RETENTION SPRAY – it is made of a transparent synthetic material, it is an alternative device to the retention plate, it also maintains the treatment result.

Fixed metal braces are made up of wires and elastic bands, attached to metal brackets that are bonded to each of your teeth. The wire is gradually tightened to create the gentle force that aligns your teeth into a straighter position. Metal braces are strong, fixed alliances used in orthodontic treatment.
These traditional fixed metal braces remain the type of treatment most commonly fitted by orthodontists in the UK, particularly for children.
They consist of very small metal brackets attached to a wire that are placed on the front of your teeth.
They are popular with teenagers as they can be brightened up with different colours to make the smile unique.
Metal braces use constant, gentle pressure, which over time, and also move teeth into their proper positions.
Ceramic braces are similar to metal braces, but they use clear or tooth-colored brackets rather than gray or metallic silver brackets and wires.
Many people opt for ceramic braces because they’re less noticeable on your teeth than metal braces. This can be a huge advantage if you’re considering braces and don’t want to feel self-conscious about wearing them.
Self-ligating braces are an evolution of traditional fixed braces. Instead of elastic bands, the brackets feature clever sliding clips that hold the wire in place. The self-ligating clear braces (also called Damon Braces) are claimed by its makers to be less painful, and faster in most cases as compared to traditional metal braces. These braces are barely noticeable until someone is at a point-blank range.
They have clips instead of metal and the bracket itself supports the arch-wire in its place. These require less frequent check-ups, and may not require tooth extractions or palatal expanders as a part of the treatment.
Invisalign treatment uses clear, removable aligners, which straighten your smile discretely. With no wires or brackets, they’re a discreet alternative to conventional fixed braces. Invisalign is the brand name of a type of thin clear aligner used in orthodontic treatment. The aligner is made from a flexible thermoplastic material named SmartTrack.
Invisalign can be used for a variety of purposes, including crowding and spacing issues, as well as some mild and moderate bite issues.
The Invisalign website claims that it can be used to treat the following dental issues:some types of overbite, underbite, and crossbite issues, open bite, gap teeth, crowded teeth.
